Hi Connie. I've had people recommend sea vegetables (algae, seaweed) as a method of getting B12. Dulse, kelp, hijiki, arame and other seaweeds supposedly have good levels of B12, although some people argue that it's not easily absorbed by the body.

I have started taking a tablet form of B12 once a month, just to be safe. The B12 tablet that I take is Methyl-cobalamin, not cyano-cobalamin, so I don't have to deal with the cyanide issue.

Hope that helps!

I work for a Neurologist and he has had patients sent to him with Vitamin B12 deficiency after having gastric by-pass surgery. What would be recommended for them other than B12 injections or supplements?
